Meet Our New Barn Manager Taylor Yeaton!

Taylor Yeaton was born into an equestrian family and would not have it any other way. She has lived in Charlotte her entire life and has a family farm located in Wesley Chapel. Taylor has shown competitively in several associations all across the East Coast such as PSJ, PHJA, BRHJA and NCHJA. She has won PHJA Horse of the year along with consecutively being the year end champion of various equitation divisions starting at the age of 10 all the way to adults. She placed fifth in the nation in the AHJS Dover Hunter Challenge and received best jumper style award. In addition to competing in show circuits, Taylor also has a background in 4-H judging. The same year she was awarded the sportsmanship award in a local show circuit, she placed High Overall Individual, High Performance Individual, and High Team at the NC state 4-H judging contest. From a very young age, Taylor maintained numerous jobs in order to keep her hobby and equine lifestyle up and running. This includes holding a supervisor position with a parks and recreation department exposing her to management roles as well as working with children of all ages. Taylor just recently graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Exercise Science and a minor in Psychology. During her four years at Appalachian, she created and managed her own fitness program for the faculty and staff while holding a job as a personal trainer. She enjoys incorporating her exercise knowledge into her training programs with the students and horses to add a strength and conditioning edge. Taylor is eager to utilize her equine and health expertise to help uphold the incredible program that Carolina Country Acres has and is undoubtedly thrilled to be a part of the CCA family.

Meet Our New Instructor Sara Brazell!

Sara Brazell, a native Charlottean, was introduced to the horse world at age seven during a summer camp instructed by Alicia Wilkinson.  Sara fell in love with horses and began her riding career that fall, training with Alicia.  She has owned many ponies and horses through the years, and has shown competitively for the past fifteen years, traveling to horse shows almost every weekend.  During Sara’s high school years, she was the NCHJA State Champion, and also won champion ribbons at A and AA shows such as Aiken Classic, Camden, Raleigh, Blowing Rock, Tryon and Greensboro. As a junior rider, she competed in the 3’ Children’s hunter/equitation and the 3’6 Junior hunter and medals, again winning top ribbons in her classes.

Sara is a recent graduate from the University of South Carolina, where she received her Bachelor of Science from the Darla Moore School of Business in Management and Marketing. During her time at USC, Sara joined the IHSA Equestrian team, often becoming their point rider, and was President of the team in her senior year.  Throughout college Sara continued to show, competing in the 3’ adult amateur hunters and medals.

Sara’s most recent accomplishments include reserve champion at the 2015 AA Blowing Rock horse show in the High Adult Jumper division, Conyers AA show in Atlanta receiving champion in the adult amateurs, AA Aiken Spring Classic, winning the Adult Classic, AA Raleigh show, competing and placing in the Adult Medal finals. She also traveled to WEF showing in the adult hunters and placed in the top ribbons out of 70 horses. She has also placed competitively in a very large adult division and scored an 89 in the adult medal at the AA Blowing Rock horse show.

She has had much success in the Hunter, Jumper and Equitation rings and has trained with some of the country’s best trainers, such as Johnny Barker, Jennifer St. John, Liza Towell Boyd, and Cathy and Rob Dow.
